CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Fourteen Southern governors were invited to this weekend's ceremonial burial of the crew of a sunken Confederate submarine, but none plans to attend. "A historian might be attracted to this event without any consequences. An elected governor would probably get some criticism for attending. It's inevitable," said Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics. The Rev. Joseph Darby, vice president of the state chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, did not think it would hurt Sanford politically if he attended. "It would be a matter of personal preference, so it's totally up to him," Darby said. "I, luckily, will be out of town this weekend, so I don't have to even look at the TV coverage." |

Chuck sir, and those on the SHNV list, I am absolutly thrilled that the Rev. Darby is gonna be out of town during the service. God forbid, he might have to look upon some folks of color marching with and standing in the ranks with all dem evil white folk. Geez, when dedicated friend of all Southrons (and camp 1802 Associate member)Greg Hanson fwd the AP article, from which I took the above quotes , I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The idea that so many of the highest office holders of so many states, would be so wishy washy as not to attend one of the biggest "History" in the making events in the South in the past 100+ years for fear that the NAACP would rise up in revolt by running their mouths just flabbergasts me. I guess it just finally hit me upside the head like a L'ville slugger, who is running this nation. It isn't the President, nor the House nor Senate, sure ain't the Govenors, its the NAACP. I see them on TV in their $1,000+ suits and their big cars attending $500 a plate fundraisers. It just turns my guts, cause I know at least some of their money comes from hard working Christian blacks putting money in the church collection plates that ends up in the hands of a few fat cats and an army of lobbyists instead of taking care of the folks that need the help. They need to take care of their peoples real problems like babies having babies, or fathers making babies and never seen again, mile long welfare lines, the inner city drug problems, or the violent message in that rap crap they call music. But nooooooo they are too busy fighting the evil Confederate flags and T shirts. Ya'll know we just go out of our way to offend people with our Confederate symbols........yeah right....me and mine stay up at night trying to figure new and improved ways to offend. That's why we give so much time and effort within our community to charity work, cause we are evil and love to offend. I'm just beside myself wondering when, not only our leaders, but the common man as well are gonna get some stones and say "ENOUGH".....I want my rights, my heritage and my country back".We are losing it at warp speed day in day out. I guess it's reached the point that we quit trying to elect an honest politician, and just buy as many of them as we can. After all, our eneimies do...........don't they? Off my soapbox.........
God Bless ya'll for listenin. |
