Over the last few dark days I have watched my world spin. I didn't know if it was spinning out of control, or into a new orbit. After several almost sleepless nights spent answering over a thousand emails from all over the country, I have come to the conclusion, that my life did not spin out of control, but rather merely into a better orbit.
After resigning my commissions here in the state of the ape, alot of folks were there with some most kind words. Oh there were some negative ones too, as there are always are if ya make a stand. However, the number was so few they don't even tally intp the mix. What does count is the kindness, prayers, and compliments that were sent. I have never witnessed anything like it and I have been around the block, and most of the world, a time or two. Southrons, no matter where they live, if the gray is truly in their blood, are some of the most resilient and stalwart people in the world. Their kindess is second to no one. I will testify on the Bible to that. I can prove it, I've experienced it this week, it changed me, (for the better) and it has re-kindled a fire in my soul. I would like to publically relate a most positive event in my life that occurred today. Shortly after 8 am Georgia time this day, May 4, 2004, Commander Sam Lyons of the Capt. James Knox Camp #2022, of the Ga. Division SCV contacted me and said I had a home in his camp, and not only did they want me, but they offered me a commission as a Heritage Officer, serving along side one my Southron heros Dewey Barber. I let out a Reb yell from the bowels of Mole Church, that I'm pretty sure was heard from Chicago to Cairo!!!!!!! Well maybe not quite that far. But Mayme's big ole fat Confederate gray cat that was sleepin in the chair next to me jumped straight up then took off runnin, not to be seen for at least two hours. So I guess if there's a message or moral to be had from this post it is simply this: If ya'll bust your hump at whatever, as long as it's for the right reasons, well then no matter what a few might think or say of ya in a negative manner, lots more will see the truth, and they will send forth a tidal wave of positive in your direction. God certainly works in most mysterious ways, and I have bent his ear for hours upon hours the last few days. It appears to me that he listened too! For the glory of the old South and the new, I send the best of regards from Behind Enemy Lines. T Warren
