Commander Kyle giving his presentation

Commander Kyle talked of how to do research on family genealogy and gave a lot of information on how to find genealogy references and Confederate War Records. He also spoke on The Preservation Project and also on the Heriage Highway Project. He passed out information sheets on these subjects and also a
Book List for young readers.

Commander Kyle spoke on The Preservation Project of Camp Milton, near Jacksonville, FL, and displayed these pasteboards of the project. He also explained how the "fight" for this project had been going on for around 35 years and had a scrapbook of newspaper articles and letters of correspondence of the people involved that dated back to the 1960's. He also explained how, at the very last minute, that Jacksonville was able to buy the remaining acreage, that was slated for a sludge waste dump, for the Preservation Project. The poster on the right shows the location and layout of the site while the poster on the left shows actual pictures from the site.
